LEO CLUB OF CEG

“Leadership is not a position or a title; it is an action and an example”.

LEO Club of CEG is a student body of College of Engineering Guindy, which endeavours to enhance the leadership skills of students by providing them various opportunities and experiences for their overall development. The motto of our club is “Leadership, Experience and Opportunity”; the club improves the leadership and professional skills of students in addition to moulding them into responsible individuals.

Our club organizes various events that fosters the spirit of social responsibility among students; the major events include THULIR and VIDIYAL. Our club has rendered its service to the society by adopting SURYA NAGAR, a slum area near Kotturpuram, Chennai. Free tuitions are given to the children of SURYA NAGAR to help fulfil their dream of acing the UPSC Civil Services Examinations. The most notable programme of our club is the free UPSC COACHING CLASSES conducted for the students of CEG, in association with ARAM IAS ACADEMY; the count of students attending these classes is increasing year-after-year.

LEO Club of CEG, under the patronage of its parent club, Lions Club of South Madras, is one among the oldest functioning clubs of our college. Lions Club of South Madras is a social, non-profit organization whose aim is to meet the needs of communities. Our club is able to conduct various successful events with the support and encouragement from the parent club. In addition to the other events, our club also conducts LEO UTSAV, a fest of cultural and extra-curricular fun activities, which is organized and conducted by the students of CEG; the funds raised through this event is distributed among people requiring help in an effort to fulfil their needs.
